Description

The Duduk is one of the eldest double reeded instruments ever. It has a range of a tenth and is made from finest apricotwood. The sound reminds of a clarinet, being played in the lower octave. The reed is played directly with no windcap or other protection and many traditional players use circular breathing. Theres a lot of Duduks in Armenia, where it is the national instruments, though they spread into many other countries. In Turkey for example they are called Mey and people in Georgia call them Duduki. Our duduk is tuned in A.

The guy in the video is called Yanni. Check out what you can do with a Duduk, when being able to do what he does : ).
